INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time in as many weeks, Evan Crowe has been selected as the Crossroads League Men's Basketball Player of the Week after leading Taylor to a win over a ranked opponent.
Crowe poured in a game-high 27 points and added a team-leading seven rebounds and a career-high three steals in Taylor's 105-97 overtime win over No. 16 Bethel on Tuesday inside Odle Arena.
The Franklin, Ohio native outscored the Pilots, 12-11, in the overtime period and put the game away with two steals and four free throws in the final 26 seconds of action.
The victory marked TU's third-straight win over a team receiving votes or ranked in the NAIA Preseason Top-25 Poll, as TU has downed No. 3 Davenport, RV Ohio Christian and No. 16 Bethel in succession to move to 8-0 for the first time since 1984.
Crowe has been on fire during that stretch, netting 24.0 points and 7.3 boards per outing, while connecting of 15-of-28 attempts from beyond the arc and currently rates No. 7 in the NAIA with 4.0 makes per game from deep.
The honor is the second for Crowe this season and gives Taylor a total of 29 weekly awards from the Crossroads League and Mid-States Football Association Mideast League this fall.
Crowe and the Trojans (8-0, 1-0 CL) will return to play on Tuesday, when they travel to Spring Arbor (4-4, 0-1 CL) for a 7:00 pm tip. The road game will be streamed live on the Trojan Sports Network, with coverage beginning at approximately 6:50 pm.
