AVCA All-Region Teams | TU Honors Page

LEXINGTON, KY. – Taylor volleyball's Haley Harrell and Alex Reel earned recognition as members of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Midcentral Region team.


Harrell, the Crossroads League Setter of the Year, earned her spot on the All-Midcentral Region team after finishing the 2016 campaign with 1,179 assists and helping the Taylor offense to .186 hitting percentage. The sophomore from Plymouth, Indiana also earned Crossroads League First-Team honors as well as CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.


Reel was the anchor of the Taylor back row, racking up a team-best 651 digs and adding 38 service aces. A senior from Noblesville, Indiana, Reel earned All-Midcentral Region honorable mention after finishing the 2016 season second in the Crossroads League with 5.4 digs per set.


The AVCA all region teams are selected by a committee of AVCA coaches and were released last week.
