LANSING, Mich. – The Taylor women's golf team positioned itself nicely through two rounds of action at the Crossroads League Championship on Monday.
The Trojans carded the lowest team score of the second round on Monday afternoon with a team tally of 332 to move into second place with a two-round total of 668 (336-332). TU trails No 23 Marian (327-333) by eight shots while Indiana Wesleyan (334-335) sits one shot behind the Trojans entering Tuesday's final round.
Maddie Thomas led the way for TU during Monday's 36-hole marathon as the freshman shot 78 in the opening round followed by a 79 in the afternoon loop. Thomas's two-round total of 157 is in second place behind Saint Francis's Marissa Singer at 149 (74-75).
Senior Brittany Pfaff is in seventh place with a total of 167 after shooting 87 in the morning and bouncing back with an 80 in the afternoon for TU. Sophomore Raquel Helton is also in the top ten with a two-round total of 169 (83-86).
Action for Tuesday's final round begins with tee times starting at 8:30 am. Jackson will be the first Trojan on the course at 9:50 am followed by Elenbaas at 9:58 am, Helton at 10:06 am, Pfaff at 10:14 am, and Thomas at 10:22 am.
