KANSAS CITY – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released its fourth Top-25 Poll of the 2017 campaign on Tuesday, with Taylor remaining in the receiving votes section for the third-straight poll.
TU earned 51 points in the ratings, a significant increase from the 17 points it received in the previous ratings. The Trojans were joined in the rankings by fellow Crossroads League members, No. 4 Marian and RV Indiana Wesleyan.
The Trojans finished the regular season on a seven-game win streak, including an upset of No. 4 Marian, and rank among the NAIA's top-25 in hits (452), hits per game (9.2), runs scored (298), batting average (.331), doubles (97), doubles per game (2.0), home runs per game (0.9) and slugging percentage (.502).
RV Taylor (35-14, 27-7 CL) will return to action on Wednesday, when it plays Mount Vernon Nazarene (19-29, 13-23 CL) in the first round of the Crossroads League Tournament at 10:00 am at Gudakunst Field. The Trojans are the No. 2 seed and will play again at 3:00 pm with a win or at 5:00 pm with a loss.
