HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Taylor women's 4x800-meter relay team set a new school record to and hit the NAIA A-standard to highlight the action for the TU women's track and field team on Thursday.
The TU 4x800-meter relay team of Rachel Blagg, Margie Crosby, Taylor Bluemel, and Naomi Noyes raced to a blistering time of 9:14.86 at the North Central College Dr. Keeler Meet. The time was more than 11 seconds better than the team's previous best this season and hit the NAIA A-standard to automatically qualify the squad for the NAIA Outdoor Championships.
Taylor also had athletes compete at the Hillsdale Last Chance Meet where Brianna Jordahl also enjoyed a stellar performance on Thursday as the sophomore set a new school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 49.74 meters which also met the NAIA B-Standard.
Sophomore Plenseh-Tay Sakeuh also turned in a solid performance with a time of 14.81 in the 100-meter hurdles for TU. Fellow sophomore Miriam Wood posted a mark of 1:00.64 int eh 400-meters while freshman Lenna Klein added a 12.86 time in the 100-meters.
Mae Elizabeth Gimre ran in the 5,000-meters and clocked a time of 18:57.61 at the North Central College Dr. Keeler Meet.
The Taylor 4x100-metet relay team also competed and posted a time of 49.22.
