INDIANAPOLIS – Taylor University senior Alex Lovelace has been named Crossroads League Softball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

The left-handed lead-off hitter collected nine hits in 11 at-bats, for an .818 batting average with four doubles in Taylor's three games last week, helping TU go deep in the Crossroads League Tournament. Lovelace posted at least two hits in each contest, including a 4-4 outing against Indiana Wesleyan, while also scoring five runs and driving in two more for the week.

The honor is the fourth of Lovelace's four-year career with the Purple and Gold and the team's fourth this season.

Lovelace and the Trojans (38-16) return to the diamond for the NAIA National Championship Opening Round May 15-17 at Lindsey Wilson College.
