USTFCCCA Program-of-the-Year Standings

NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its NAIA programs of the year, naming Taylor as one-of-six schools in the nation to earn top-25 grades for its men's and women's programs.

Taylor came in at No. 6 on the men's side and No. 16 on the women's side, while ranking No. 3 in the nation in combined standings. TU trailed only Aquinas and Saint Francis (IL) for the strongest combined men's and women's cross country and track programs in the NAIA.

The Trojans scored as a team in all six of the men's and women's national championship events for cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field, scoring five top-25 finishes. On the men's side, Taylor finished 15th in indoor track, 18th in cross country and 23rd in outdoor track, while taking 19th in cross country, 20th in indoor track and 56th in outdoor track on the women's side.

The USTFCCCA Program-of-the-Year standings are intended to rank the most successful programs based on each institution's finish at the NAIA National Championships in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track during the academic year. In order to be eligible for the standings, teams must score points or place as a team at each championship event.

In addition to being one of only six schools in the NAIA to score as a team in all six championship events, Taylor produced 14 NAIA All-Americans, 26 NAIA Scholar-Athletes and six CoSIDA Academic All-District awards from its cross country and track and field teams during the 2016-2017 year.
