KANSAS CITY – After cracking the national rankings for the first time in program history a season ago, the Taylor University women's soccer team begins the 2017 campaign ranked No. 22 in the NAIA Preseason Top-25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday.

The Trojans finished the 2016 season as the winningest team in program history, racking up 14 wins to enter the national poll for the first time in team history and reach their highest-ever rating (No. 16).

TU earned 133 points in the poll, trailing No. 21 Kansas Wesleyan by 31 points. Taylor was joined in the national rankings by fellow Crossroads League teams No. 2 Spring Arbor and RV Marian.

The No. 22 Trojans will open the 2017 season with a trip to Sylvania, Ohio, on Saturday, August 26, to take on Lourdes at 6:00 pm.
