UPLAND, Ind. - The Trojans kicked off Crossroads League action on Wednesday with a decisive 7-2 victory over the Bethel Pilots.
In singles, Taylor was able to secure five of the six matches, all of which were recorded in straight sets. In those five matches, no BC player was allowed more than four points in any set. Dominant performances were turned in by Christen Jacquottet with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 2 slot, Jake Herbruck with a 6-0, 6-3 victory in the No. 4 position, and Stephen All who picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win in No. 5 singles.
On the doubles court, TU landed two of the three matches in the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively.
"Happy that our guys got the win especially with it being our first league match," said Coach Don Taylor. "I hope that it can be a confidence builder for our young guys. Since we led with singles play, it was nice to have five wins and have the match won before doubles play began, but our guys did not coast and continued to play hard."
