UPLAND, Ind. - The TU men's tennis team suffered their first loss in Crossroads League play on Tuesday by falling to the Knights of Marian University (2-1, 2-1 CL) 8-1. The loss moves Taylor's season mark to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in league action.

Although the Trojans did not pick up a win in doubles action, all three matches were competitive. Doubles play was headlined by a 9-7 loss in the No. 3 position where Stephen All and Alex Jung were edged by Turner Lesnick and Nicholas Marroquin.

"We had a lot of positives today," noted Coach Don Taylor. "I think our doubles teams played the best they have all season against a Marian team that is very strong in doubles."

In singles, Jung continued to pace TU by landing the Trojans' lone win of the night on the No. 6 court by downing Lesnick 6-4, 7-5.

Coach Taylor added, "In singles we had several guys get off to slow starts, but some had nice comebacks. We need to continue to work on our mental toughness and limit breakdowns at crucial times."

After a day away from competition, Taylor (1-2, 1-1 CL) will be back on the courts on Thursday against Saint Francis (0-3, 0-3 CL)
