UPLAND, Ind. – Freshman Jourdan Lehman's first-career goal in the 15th minute provided all the scoring the 17th-ranked Trojans needed, as TU shut out Indiana Tech for the 1-0 victory at Turner Stadium on Friday night.
Hannah Davis found Lehman with a pass through traffic from left to right across the box, and Lehman converted from 10 yards out with a strike past the goalie to the lower left corner of the net for the only score of the contest.
TU held a 10-shot advantage on the night, outshooting the Warriors, 25-15, for the contest, including a 13-7 edge in shots on goal, but Taylor could not find the net outside of Lehman's score. Additionally, the Trojans earned seven corner kicks and held Indiana Tech (2-2) without a single corner kick the entire contest.
No. 17 Taylor (4-1) will travel to Hammond, Indiana, on Wednesday to face off with NCAA Division II Purdue Northwest (0-1) at 3:00 pm in its next match.
