MILWAUKEE – Junior Alec Dutkowski carded a 4-under par 67 during the second round of the Wolfpack Invitational to lead the 13th ranked Taylor men's golf team on Monday.
The Trojans tallied team scores of 297 and 292 during Monday's first and second rounds to finish the day in second place in the nine-team field, 12 shots behind the hosts, No. 9 Cardinal Stritch.
Dutkowski's two-round total of even par 142 (75-67) leaves the junior in 2nd place, nine shots behind Cardinal Stritch's Brian Murtagh.
Senior Mitch Lamping is next on the scoreboard for Taylor in a tie for 8th place at 5-over par 147 (70-77). Seniors Trey Turner (77-74) and Nick Waskom (75-76) finished the day at 151 and in a tie for 17th place while junior Jeremy Ray is in a tie for 26th place at 153 (77-76). Sophomore Nate Morris, who competed as an individual, is tied for 31st at 157 (84-73).
The Trojans hold a 2-shot lead over No. 18 Mount Mercy and #RV Marian. Fourth-ranked Grandview, the defending National Champions, is in seventh place, 12 shots behind Taylor.
Tuesday's final round is slated to begin at 8:00 am (CST).
