MILWAUKEE – The 13th-ranked Taylor men's golf team took second place amid a strong field at the Wolfpack Invitational hosted by Cardinal Stritch.


The Trojans carded a final round score of 297 on the challenging 6,554-yard, par-71 layout of Brown Deer Park Golf Course to remain in second place behind No. 9 Cardinal Stritch. Taylor tallied a three-round total of 887 to finish ahead of #RV Marian (994), No. 18 Mount Mercy (896), and a host of others including No. 4 Grand View (911).  


Junior Alec Dutkowski led the way for Taylor with a third place finish in the field 54 players. Dutkowski finished with a 54-hole total of 3-over par 216 (75-67-74) to finish nine shots behind the individual champion, Brian Murtagh, from Cardinal Stritch.


Senior Mitch Lamping also tallied a top-10 finish with a tie for ninth at 8-over par total of 221 with rounds of 70-77-74.


Fellow senior Trey Turner carded rounds of 77-74-74 to finish in a tie for 15th place while Nick Waskom tallied rounds of 75-76-75 for an 18th place finish.


Junior Jeremy Ray finished in a tie for 23rd place with rounds of 77-76-75 while sophomore Nate Morris finished in 35th place (84-73-80) while playing as an individual.


The Trojans are back in action this weekend in the Battle at Blackthorn held at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana. Round one action begins at 12:00 pm on Friday.
