UPLAND, Ind. – TU sophomore Danielle Toren's first-career goal in the 71st minute carried the 16th-ranked Trojans to a 1-0 victory over Aquinas at Turner Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Megan Kammer lined up a free kick from 38 yards out on the left side of the pitch and booted it into the goal box, where Toren headed the pass into the back of the net for the game-winner.
TU controlled the possession for the majority of the game, as Aquinas (2-3-1) only managed three shots in the contest, including a span of 63 minutes without a single shot. The Trojans put up 28 shots on the day and also held a 14-2 advantage on corner kicks over the Saints.
Lauren Engelkes (3-1) earned the win in the net for Taylor, grabbing three saves in her first shutout of the season.
No. 16 TU (6-1) will head to Cornerstone (2-2-1) to face the Eagles on Tuesday at 4:00 pm in its next matchup.
