GOSHEN, Ind. - The Taylor Trojans fell just short of picking up a road league victory on Saturday by falling 5-4 to the Maple Leafs of Goshen College (5-4, 4-3 CL). Taylor (4-5, 4-4 CL) sits sixth in league standings with two more Crossroads League contests left to play.

TU got off to a great start by picking up wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles positions with Jake Herbruck and Alex Jung winning 8-5 on court one and Andre Danelli and Christen Jacquottet also winning 8-5 on court two.

In singles, TU scored a big, two-set win in the No. 1 singles slot with Jacquottet downing Eric Zuercher 6-3, 6-1. The Trojans also received a come-from-behind victory on court six with Jung fighting back against Evan Beck to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. Narrowly, the Trojans missed landing a match-winning contest, falling in No. 2 and No. 3 singles after winning the opening set in both.

"It was a little disappointing that we couldn't pull out one of the three-set matches where we won the first set," said Coach Don Taylor. "But Goshen is a very good team, and it was a tough match and a good match."

The Trojans will be back in action on Tuesday against Indiana Wesleyan (9-0, 7-0 CL) at 4:00 p.m.
