2014 at Taylor: Played in 18 games as a true freshman with nine starts, primarily at shortstop or as a designated player… Taylor finished 42-17 overall for the most wins in program history for a season, highlighted by a Crossroads League regular season and tournament title and the program’s first win in the NAIA National Tournament, a 4-3 victory in extra-innings over Georgetown (Ky.)…Burchette batted to an average of .242 in 33 at-bats with eight hits, eight runs scored and 12 RBI for the Trojans…Totaled five extra-base hits on three doubles and two home runs…Went 2-2 with two runs scored in the second game of the season, a 16-5 victory over Northwood…Was 2-3 with a run scored and a career-high six RBI in the opening game of the doubleheader against Marian on April 26, hitting a three-run home run to left field in the second inning and a three-RBI double in the third inning to help Taylor to the 11-0 win in five innings played.
Prep: Burchette is from Gas City, Indiana and attended Mississinewa High School, where she lettered all four years in softball…Earned First Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore, junior and senior…Took home All-District recognition her senior year and was a member of the North All-Star Team…A high honor roll student at Mississinewa and member of the National Honor Society.
