Larry Hinshaw
Assistant Coach - 4th Season
Alma Mater: Olivet Nazarene University

The 2016 season is the fourth for Larry Hinshaw as the assistant volleyball coach for the Taylor University volleyball program. With nearly 20 years of coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, camp and club levels, Hinshaw brings a wealth of knowledge to the TU coaching staff.

A familiar face in the Crossroads League, Hinshaw served as an assistant coach at Indiana Wesleyan from 2009 through 2012. While with the Wildcats, Hinshaw helped facilitate a remarkable turn-around that saw Indiana Wesleyan improve from an 11-31 mark in 2009 to a 36-6 record in his final season in 2011.

From 2001 through 2004, Hinshaw served as the Southern Wesleyan University head coach. During his tenure, the Warriors achieved a regular season conference title, which allowed the program to achieve its first appearance in school history in the NAIA Region XIII finals, where they placed second. In his four years, Hinshaw coached eight academic All American's and several all-conference and all-region selections, including one Regional Player of the Year.  Hinshaw was also named Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year in 2002.

From 1999 through 2000, Hinshaw spent two years as assistant coach at Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama. During his coaching stint, Hinshaw was instrumental in taking a team that was 7-31 the previous year to a runner-up finish in the 1999 TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament with a first-time appearance in the Region XI Tournament.

A 1997 graduate of Olivet Nazarene University, Hinshaw received a bachelor's degree in physical education. He served as a student assistant to the women's volleyball program for three years as well as an assistant coach for one year. Hinshaw also served in an assistant role to the Tournament Director in the 1997 NAIA Volleyball National Championship.

Hinshaw's resume includes coaching at collegiate-level volleyball camps, including Michigan State, University of Illinois, Wisconsin, and Purdue. He has also served as a head coach for Clemson-Foothills Volleyball Club (2002-03), Alabama Juniors (1999-01), Divers Volleyball Club (1996-99), and as Club Director and coach for Cornerstone Volleyball Club (2007).
